| Saved | Steven: We were in a revival meeting in a newly-planted church that my parents helped start in the south part of Phoenix, Arizona. I was about eight or nine years old. When the evangelist gave the invitation, I wanted to go pray, but hesitated. My mother offered to go with me. After I had given my heart to the Lord, I went outside and it seemed as if everything were brand new. |

| Calling | Steven: I first sensed a call when I was about nine or ten in a missionary service in Phoenix, Arizona. God renewed the calling through a youth service that my mother led when I was a freshman in high school. From that point on the Lord has led me step by step into the work He has wanted me to do. |
| Kathy: When I married Steve I accepted the “call” to follow him wherever the Lord led him. |

| Ministry | Steven: Before we were married I served as pastor of the Bible Methodist Church in Rockwood, Tennessee, for almost two years. Kathy and I were placed under appointment with Evangelistic Faith Missions in May, 1972, and we began deputation right after our honeymoon and were in Central America by the end of that year.
